B.Sc. Department

Bachelor of Science (BSc.) is a under graduation 3 years (Six Semester) degree course. The Department fulfill as its dream of inculcating group dynamics, human skills and employable skills in the students by conducting different events. It promotes research habits amongst undergraduate students.

It enhances the employability skill by conducting Add-on Courses and Bridge Courses to bridge the gap between the syllabus and the industry requirements. It encourages.

Admission to the course is offered on the basis of the University of Mumbai.

Objective of the Department:

To strive hard for the overall development of the student so as to develop him/her not only as a good professional but also a good citizen of the country & a good human being.
To impart quality education to the students.
We try to accomplish this by carrying out various activities.

Scope:

Students with a degree in BSc Physics can apply for a job as a financial analyst, lab technician, etc.
Students with a degree in BSc Chemistry can apply for a job in sectors such as medical research, laboratories, utility companies, technical journals, etc.
MIDC being closeby is an excellent source of jobs after completion of graduation from both BSc. Physics and Chemistry.

This is to announce that the Second year students had arranged a farewell party for the third year students “To Fir Jao Na” on 23^rd March, 2019.

This is to notify that a local Industrial visit to ARTI Drugs, MIDC will be organised for the T.Y B.Sc (Chemistry) students on 16^thMarch, 2019 to help them understand the practical working conditions of the pharma industries that would help them to choose their careers as expert chemists in reputed pharma companies.

This is to inform that B.Sc. Dept. is organising an Industrial visit for the students of First year, Second year and Third year students to Agra- Fatehpur Sikri- Jaipur from 25^th February to 2^nd March 2019. Students will be visiting Prakash Generators company where the process of how generators are manufactured will be showed and also the methods to implement these generators.

The year 2018 marked a new accomplishment for the department as the third batch of Third year BSc. graduated with 89% result

The first year students of BSc were welcomed on 16th July 2018 by the Co-ordinator of BSc faculty Prof. Ms. Niyati Patil and other eminent staff members of the department.

The department had arranged for an awareness program for “Global warming” on 23rd October 2018.

The year 2017 marked a new accomplishment for the department as the third batch of Third year BSc. graduated with 82% result

1^st Prize in Science exhibition arranged by Lion’s club & Dandekar college, Palghar.
1^st, 2^nd and 3^rd prize in Taluka level Elocution Competition in 2017
2^nd and 3^rd prize in Taluka Level Elocution Competition in 2018

The following were the events arranged for the academic year 2018-19.

Introduction of staff and college to the F.Y.BSc students on 16^th July 2018.
Fresher’s party called “Novato Fiesta” on 22^nd August, 2018.
Teacher’s day competition for T.Y.BSc students, where in the students had to teach F.Y.BSc and S.Y. BSc students.
Guest lecture on “Various Career Opportunities after T.Y.BSc.” was arranged for T.Y.BSc. students on 2^nd August 2018. The guest for the lecture was Mr. Parimal Mehta.
guest lecture on “Career Guidance” for F.Y.BSc. and S.Y.BSc. students was arranged on 14^th August, 2018. The lecturer for the same was Mr. Chirag Shah.
A one day workshop on “Instrumentation” was arranged for the BSc. students with the help of Chaitan Chem test laboratories and training centre on 27^th September, 2018 and the guest speaker was Mrs. Shaifali Patil, the proprietor of the laboratory. Also it was the department’s initiative under “Skill India program.”
A one day educational visit to “Nehru Planetarium,” “Nehru Science Centre,” & “Taraporewala Aquarium,” Mumbai was arranged for S.Y.BSc. students in the month of September, 2018.
Awareness program for “Global warming” on 23^rd October 2018. The guest orator was Mr. Anil Karvir and he gave information about a diwali free from firecrackers and its importance.
The department arranges for a science week in the month of December, this year’s competitions included- Debate Competition, Quiz Competition, Healthy Cooking Competition, Collage Making Competition, Treasure Hunt Competition, etc.
Also Industrial visit was arranged along with the BSc. IT department for Agra – Jaipur in February 2019.
Another industrial visit to Aarti Drugs Pvt. Ltd. Was arranged for T.Y.BSc. students in March 2019.
Presentations on various topics for S.Y.Bsc. Zoology Students were taken on 30^th March 2019.

The Second year students had arranged a farewell party for the third year students and it was called “Foot Prints” on 17th March, 2018.

A one day workshop on “Instrumentation” was arranged for the BSc. students with the help of Chaitan Chem test laboratories and training centre. The workshop was arranged on 27th September, 2018 and the guest speaker was Mrs. Shaifali Patil, the proprietor of the laboratory.

Seminar and Advertisement competition on 11th December 2017. The topics for the seminar competition were “Alien Invasion, Possibility of third world war and Pollution in your area.”

Debate competition on the topics “Reservation in jobs- justified? and Use of Mobile- good or bad?” was organized on 12th December, 2017.

Collage making competition was arranged on 13th December, 2017 and the students were asked to make collages on the topics like “Evolution of technology, Daily Dump and Child Labour.”

The Department’s annual event of Treasure Hunt were arranged on 14th December, 2017.

Essay writing competition on the topics “Role of science in changing India, Virat Kohli- a role model, If I become a world leader and importance of reading.”
